Tale of the Sale: Home Is Where the Family Is
Sometimes the home you end up in is the one you almost didn't see.
These buyers came to me through a referral from their son, who was one of my sellers at the time. They were snowbirds, splitting their year between Colorado and Arizona, and when they started looking they had a clear idea of what they thought they could afford: a tiny home in town. Modest, manageable, realistic.
Then I connected them with a local lender.
It turned out they could afford more than they thought, and that opened up a whole new set of possibilities. We toured a lot of homes, found some good options, and then they headed to Arizona for the winter, as snowbirds do. The search slowed down, but it didn't stop.
While they were away, 7401 County Road 141 came onto my radar. I knew it was worth their attention, and so did their son. We both encouraged them to take a look, and they finally agreed. The catch? They were still in Arizona.
So we did a FaceTime showing. Their son and I walked the property together while they watched from their phones, asking questions and getting a real feel for the place. They loved it. We wrote an offer.
The closing took longer than it otherwise would have because the seller had a tenant in place with a lease running through April 1st. So we waited, and on April 1st, it closed.
Now they're officially Salida residents, with their son and grandkids close by and a community ready to welcome them. As it turns out, they're right around the corner from me, which means they've got a neighbor who already knows their story.
Welcome home.
Thinking about buying in Salida or the surrounding area? Let's connect. Family and community have a way of pointing people right where they need to be.
