Tale of the Sale — Downsizing Made Easy
Real estate transitions are rarely simple—but when timing matters and teamwork shows up, the results can be pretty incredible. This month’s Tale of the Sale features Linda, a longtime Salida local ready for a fresh start in a smaller space. Here’s how we made it all happen—on a tight timeline, with a whole lot of heart.
A Fresh Start, Just in Time
When Linda decided it was time to downsize, she called me to help list her home at 303 Crestone Ave. With timing as the top priority, we did our homework and priced it perfectly. Just three days later, we had it under contract with excited local buyers—who were also downsizing!
Finding the Right Next Step
Then came the fun part: finding Linda’s next home. We didn’t have to go far—just a few blocks from the golf course, we found the perfect fit. We wrote an offer contingent on the sale of her current home and were quickly under contract.
Teamwork (and Timing!) Makes the Dream Work
With both homes in motion, things were looking great—until the logistics got tight. Linda’s buyers were moving in the same day she needed to move out, and she had no one to help on Easter weekend. So what did we do? I grabbed my truck and helped her move boxes into the garage of her new place. Shoutout to the seller’s agent for making that possible!
A Coordinated Close
To keep the dominoes from toppling, Linda signed early, as did the seller of her new home. That way, when the buyers of her original home closed the next morning, everyone was ready to roll—moving trucks, keys, and all.
