Owned and operated by Nicole and Harry Hansen, Riveting Experience Jewelry is a design/wine, make your own jewelry studio. Nicole and Harry come from three generations of metalsmith and offer over 150 years of combined experience, knowledge, and skill. Tell us a little about your background and who you are.
Riveting Experience Jewelry is a new concept in jewelry. We invite others to join us as we share our passion for making beautiful things by hand. Explore the many possibilities in style and design, and then let us guide you through the simple steps to make it your own. We are truly about sharing the knowledge and skill gained from three generations of metalsmiths, 150 years of combined experience, condensed into five easy steps. You cannot fail at this because we won’t let you! We give you as much help and guidance, as you want. Our focus is to make sure that when you walk out of our studio you have crafted a piece that you will wear with pride, and that we have introduced you to the joy and satisfaction our family has experienced in using our hands to form and manipulate metal into beautiful and wearable pieces of art.
Like most people in Salida we have had many careers over the years. I have been a jeweler, and Mom for the past twenty, Harry was a farrier. Then in 2010 we turned our part time passion project into a full time gig, traveling the country selling our work Sterling and Steel at fine art shows coast to coast.
What is Riveting Experience Jewelry’s mission/vision statement?
We provide tools, materials and know how in a a fun, creative, social atmosphere for people to make their own jewelry and other metal projects.
How long have you been operating?
Riveting Experience Jewelry opened at the end of September 2019.
What motivated you to start your own business?
Short answer and long drive through Texas. We wanted to figure out a way to share our love of metalsmithing with a bigger audience.
Please describe the services you offer.
In our shop you can make items that really express who you are. We help with the design and making. We have so many choices you can combine to make into jewelry you will actually wear.
What makes your business stand out from other businesses offering similar services or products?
Unlike paint and sip activities, we help you make jewelry, hats, belts that you will be proud to wear or even give as gifts. So many people have told us these projects are so much better than they expected!

Just the happy faces of so many return customers.
What are your plans for the future of your business?
This is the pilot store for what we hope will be a nation wide chain.
Is there anything special you would like to feature about your business?
We are a multi generational metalsmithing family on both sides, we have distilled all that more than 160 years of knowledge and experience into 5 easy tools so that you with no experience can make beautiful jewelry.
Do you have any upcoming events or specials that you would like to share with us?
We recently started making belts as one of our projects, customizable belt buckles will be coming soon.
Please tell us one of your favorite things about being a part of our community.
We love that Salida combines the arts, outdoors and agriculture in one place. It really makes this place feel like a community not just a tourist destination.
What are your hours of operation? Do you have seasonal hours?
Generally we are open for walk-ins Wednesday and Thursday from 1pm-5pm, Friday and Saturday from 1pm-6pm, and Sunday 12pm-5pm, We extend hours in the summer and are always available by reservation from 10am-8pm.
