Tell us a little about your background and who you are.

Anupa Wellness - Laura Deloatch. I have been a veterinarian since 2000 and practicing veterinary herbal medicine and acupuncture since 2005. Clients saw the results of TCVM in their pets and were asking me to treat them as well. So I went back to school and received a masters in TCM for humans in 2009. I grew up in Cincinnati, OH and have been in Colorado since 2002. I have lived in Denver, Steamboat Springs and moved to Salida in July 2015.

What is Anupa's mission/vision statement?

Laura Deloatch, owner of Anupa Wellness

Laura Deloatch, owner of Anupa Wellness

Compassionate Healing. Our intention at Anupa Wellness is to offer you compassionate care in a relaxing environment in which you look forward to spending time. The clinic is a sanctuary for showing up exactly as you are. This is a judgment-free zone and a place where you are fully accepted and loved for your deepest, most beautiful self.

How long have you been operating?

I opened Anupa Wellness in December 2017. I have been a veterinarian since 2000, veterinary acupuncturist and Herbalist since 2005, and a human Acupuncturist since 2009

What motivated you to start your own business?

I wanted a location where I could bring everything together into one facility - an environment where we can treat the entire family. It all started with the belief that pets and people enrich one another lives, making us all all happier beings. And to create a community for healing. By enriching the life of one person there will be the ripple effect to everyone and every creature they connect with.

Please describe the services you offer.

Team member, Peyton, waters plants in the greenhouse.

We provide Traditional Chinese Medicine to pets and people: Acupuncture, Herbal Medicine, Nutrition, Cupping and Gua Sha. We offer community-style treatments and private acupuncture treatments. We also have a sensory deprivation tank - Dreampod for Floatation Therapy. Diana Moats provides massage, Suzi Cliff offers Reflexology, and we have Anupa I.V. - an i.v. Hydration Therapy Clinic on Saturdays.

What makes your business stand out from other businesses offering similar services or products?

We offer many options to improve the quality of lives - for the individual, the family and the furry members of the family. I love to believe that we are helping the whole family.

What are your customers saying about you? What keeps them coming back?

Diana Moats Massage Therapist

I hope they are saying they feel better! Ideally we are getting to root of the problem and they do not need to see us on a regular basis...however, feeling relief from pain, stress, insomnia, anxiety or all other ailments is our goal.

Have you won any awards or had any special recognition or acknowledgment of your business?

No we have not. We do get many customer referrals...this says a lot to each of us.

What are your plans for the future of your business?

To continue to offer quality services to help the individual and family improve their quality of life. Anupa i.v will be going mobile - and who knows what else...we shall see!

Derald Brady - preparing the ground to plant trees!

Is there anything special you would like to feature about your business?

Anupa i.v. - it is a new company (a baby company of Anupa) it is Hydration Therapy. Dr. Todd Ungar is our MD and medical director. Danita Depetro, our R.N., performs the infusions. Currently we have an infusion clinic on Saturdays from 2pm -7pm. We offer specialty infusions (such as Meyer's Cocktail) and we also have basic hydration where you can pick your own additives. We offer medications (such as Toradol) and NAD+.

Do you have any upcoming events or specials that you would like to share with us?

Yes we have Acupuncture and Sound Healing with Brandy Wade and Laura Deloatch. Thursday August 5th. Two offerings 5pm -6pm and 630pm - 730pm. $45 a person. We have 5 recliner chairs and 3 yoga mats available. Laura does acupuncture and Brandy weaves the sound of crystal bowls, Tibetan bowls and other instruments while the needles are retained. It is a magical combination.

Please tell us one of your favorite things about being a part of our community.

The connectiveness of the people. There is a lovely respect for one another, for the water, for the land, and the mountains. All of these things make me love Salida.

What are your hours of operation? Do you have seasonal hours?

We are open 7 days a week, and our hours vary depending on day and the provider working. Massage is offered Tuesday & Wednesday mornings, Friday evenings and all day Sundays. Community Acupuncture is offered Monday thru Saturday. Private acupuncture treatments are offered Monday thru Saturday. Floats are Tuesday - Friday and hopefully will be offered on Saturdays and Sundays soon! Veterinary acupuncture is offered Tuesday thru Friday.
